About
I'm Max, a mechanical engineer turned AI researcher, currently finishing a PhD building systems where machines and engineers think together.
Bilingual in English and German, I grew up in the UK and moved to Germany to study mechanical engineering. I like building things: from designing and building a CNC plasma cutter to training computer vision models for industrial object detection.
I'm always interested in learning across disciplines, from sciences to the arts and humanities, and try to understand the world by traveling through it. More recently, that curiosity has turned toward asking where AI can do the most good, which led me to found an international moral ambition circle on directing AI toward pressing global challenges.
